How long will my carpets take to dry?
There are a many factors to consider, the amount of soiling in the carpet, the length of pile, the weather, the temperature in the property. Part of a professional carpet cleaner's skill is to clean the carpets as thoroughly as possible and leave the carpets as dry as possible. However with the latest equipment and methods we use they should be dry in 2 to 3 hours.
What is Hot Water Extraction? (Steam Cleaning)
Hot water extraction means hot water cleaning solution, under high pressure, is forced into your carpet and then drawn out of your carpet. Some people call this steam cleaning, but the truth is, it doesn't use any steam. Hot water extraction system cleans from the bottom up, not from the top down.
How often should I get my carpets cleaned?
Your carpet should be professionally cleaned at least every 12 to 18 months. This will vary due to the usage your carpet gets. Factors include number of people, pets, the outdoor environment surrounding your home and how well you maintain your carpet. Also carpet manufactures recommend getting your carpets professionally cleaned periodically. This is usually between every 12 to 18 months to keep your warranty valid on your carpet.
When can I use my carpets and upholstery again?
You can use carpets immediately; however, if possible leave it to dry for 2-4 hours and the pile will stay upright and better looking for longer. Upholstery needs 4-6 hours before being put back to use. A good tip is to book your sofa as the first job of the day so that you can use it the same evening.
Will all the stains come out?
Most marks will come out during the cleaning process. Some of the more difficult dye stains may need some specialist treatment to deal with them. Any success at removing these types of stains is often diminished by home remedies that have already been tried before the technician is called out to deal with them.
Why isn't weekly vacuuming enough?
Even the best vacuum cleaner will not be able to reach the deep-down dirt and grit at the base of your carpets fibres. Regular cleaning is needed to help your carpet maintain its original appearance.
Does cleaning my carpet make it wear out faster?
No. Dirt acts as an abrasive when trapped in your carpet causing it to wear prematurely. Regular professional cleaning protects your investment.
What are those funny things (blocks or tabs) that you put under my furniture?
They are protective coasters and are there to protect your carpet from rust or furniture stains. You should wait until your carpet is completely dry before removing them.
